Madrid Masters: Baez reaches third round
Sebastian Baez edged out Marcos Giron 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 on Saturday and will face the winner of the match between Austrian wildcard Dominic Thiem and Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas, the No 4 seed, in the next round

Argentinian Sebastian Baez, the No 25 seed, edged out American Marcos Giron 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 to reach the third round of the Madrid Masters at the Caja Magica on Saturday afternoon.
Baez, ranked No 31, will face the winner of the match between Austrian wildcard Dominic Thiem and Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas, the No 4 seed, next.
In the previous round of the Madrid tournament, Giron, ranked No 61, beat Portuguese Nuno Borges (6-2, 7-6 (7)).
