Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime reached the final of the Madrid Masters when No 30 seed Jiri Lehecka retired on Friday evening at the Caja Magica.
Auger-Aliassime, ranked No 35, led 3-3 when Lehecka, ranked No 31, pulled out on Friday evening at the Caja Magica.
The Canadian will play Russian Andrey Rublev, the No 7 seed, next.
In the previous rounds of the Madrid tournament, Felix Auger-Aliassime won against Japanese Yoshihito Nishioka (4-6, 6-1, 6-4), Frenchman Adrian Mannarino, the No 19 seed (6-0, 6-4), Jakub Mensik (6-1, 1-0 ret.), Norwegian Casper Ruud, the No 5 seed (6-4, 7-5) and Italian Jannik Sinner, the top seed (W/O).
Jiri Lehecka, defeated Serb qualifier Hamad Medjedovic (7-5, 6-4), Brazilian qualifier Thiago Monteiro (6-4, 7-6 (7)), Spaniard Rafael Nadal (7-5, 6-4) and Russian Daniil Medvedev, the No 3 seed (6-4 ret.) earlier in the tournament.
