Machac cruises into Dallas Open quarter-finals
Tomas Machac knocked off Ricky Hijikata in straight sets during second-round action in Dallas on Thursday. Machac plays Canadian Denis Shapovalov next
No 6 seed Tomas Machac defeated Australia’s Rinky Hijikata 6-4, 7-6 (0) to advance to the last eight of the Dallas Open at the Ford Center at The Star on Thursday afternoon
Machac, ranked No 25, will next play Canadian Denis Shapovalov.
Ahead of his victory, Tomas Machac defeated Japanese Kei Nishikori 6-2, 6-2 in round one.
Hijikata, ranked No 73, got the best of Frenchman Adrian Mannarino 7-5, 6-3 in the previous round of the Dallas tournament.
