Lyon Open: Mpetshi Perricard reaches quarter-finals after Nishioka withdrawal

French wildcard Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard reached the quarter-finals of the Lyon Open after Japanese Yoshihito Nishioka withdrew before the match on Wednesday at Parc de la Tête d’or.
Mpetshi Perricard, ranked No 117, will face the winner of the match between French qualifier Hugo Gaston and Argentinian Francisco Cerundolo, the No 4 seed, next.
In the previous round of the Lyon tournament, the 20-year-old Frenchman defeated Italian Lorenzo Sonego (6-3, 6-4).
Nishioka, ranked No 72, won against German lucky loser Sebastian Fanselow (6-0, 6-1) in the previous round of the Lyon tournament.
