Lyon Open: Struggling Gaston wins battle of qualifiers to reach second round

French qualifier Hugo Gaston won against Colombian qualifier Daniel Elahi Galan 7-6 (2), 7-6 (4) to advance to the second round of the Lyon Open at Parc de la Tête d’or on Tuesday.
Gaston, ranked No 104, will play No 4 seed Francisco Cerundolo next.
The Frenchman has struggled in recent months, winning only one match in his last nine tournaments.
