Argentinian Tomas Martin Etcheverry, the No 6 seed, reached the second round of the Lyon Open by winning against Spanish qualifier Nikolas Sanchez Izquierdo 1-6, 6-2, 6-2 at Parc de la Tête d’or on Monday.
Etcheverry, ranked No 29, will face the winner of the match between Brazilian Thiago Seyboth Wild and Spaniard Pedro Martinez next.
