Lyon Open: Cerundolo advances to last eight

Argentinian Francisco Cerundolo, the No 4 seed, moved into the quarter-finals of the Lyon Open when Peruvian Juan Pablo Varillas retired on Tuesday at Parc de la Tête d’or.
Cerundolo, ranked No 28, led 6-2 when Varillas, ranked No 97, pulled out.
The Argentinian will now face the winner of the match between Serb Miomir Kecmanovic, the No 5 seed, and Jack Draper next.
In the previous round of the Lyon tournament, the Peruvian edged out Spaniard Albert Ramos-Vinolas (3-6, 7-6 (7), 6-4).
