Australian Jordan Thompson, the No 8 seed, moved into the second round of the Los Cabos Open by winning against Mexican wildcard Ernesto Escobedo 6-4, 6-3 at the Cabo del Mar Sports Center on Tuesday night.
Thompson, ranked No 40, will play the winner of the match between Argentinian wildcard Diego Schwartzman and American qualifier Emilio Nava next.
