American Alex Michelsen reached the quarter-finals of the Los Cabos Open by beating Australian Alex De Minaur, the No 3 seed, 6-4, 6-1 at the Cabo del Mar Sports Center on Wednesday.
Michelsen, ranked No 74, will play Australian Jordan Thompson, the No 8 seed, next. This was the first career top 10 win for the American
Ahead of his victory, the 19-year-old American won against Frenchman Constant Lestienne (6-3, 7-6 (3)).
