Chilean Nicolas Jarry, the No 6 seed, advanced to the last eight of the Los Cabos Open by edging out Dutchman Gijs Brouwer 7-6 (5), 4-6, 6-4 at the Cabo del Mar Sports Center on Thursday night.
Jarry, ranked No 28, will play the winner of the match between Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas, the top seed, and American John Isner next.
Ahead of his victory, the Chilean won against Mexican wildcard Rodrigo Pacheco Mendez (6-3, 6-1).
Brouwer, ranked No 144, beat Canadian Gabriel Diallo (6-2, 4-6, 6-2) in the previous round of the Los Cabos tournament.
