Los Cabos Open: Borges upsets Purcell to reach last eight, faces Ruud next
Nuno Borges won against Max Purcell 6-3, 6-3 in the second round on Wednesday

Portugal’s Nuno Borges beat Australian Max Purcell, the No 7 seed, 6-3, 6-3 to advance to the quarter-finals of the Los Cabos Open at the Cabo del Mar Sports Center on Wednesday.
Borges, ranked No 47, will face Norwegian Casper Ruud, the No 4 seed, next. This is the first ATP level quarter-final for the Portugese player.
Ahead of his win today, the Portuguese won against German Dominik Koepfer (7-6 (2), 6-2).
Purcell, ranked No 51, edged out Italian Matteo Arnaldi (6-4, 4-6, 6-4) in the previous round of the Los Cabos tournament.
