Japan Open: Nishikori makes second round

Japanese wildcard Kei Nishikori moved into the second round of the Japan Open by winning against Croat Marin Cilic 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 at the Ariake Colosseum in Tokyo on Thursday.

Nishikori, ranked No 200, will face the winner of the match between Norwegian Casper Ruud, the No 3 seed, and Australian Jordan Thompson next.
