Japan Open: Michelsen knocks out fourth seed Tsitsipas
Alex Michelsen defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas 4-6, 6-1, 6-2 on Thursday night and will play the winner of the match between Argentinian Tomas Martin Etcheverry and Australian qualifier Christopher O’Connell in the next round
American qualifier Alex Michelsen defeated Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas, the No 4 seed, 4-6, 6-1, 6-2 to reach the second round of the Japan Open on Thursday.
The loss continued a poor stretch of form for Tsitsipas, who has now won only one match in his previous four ATP events.
Michelsen, ranked No 49, will play the winner of the match between Argentinian Tomas Martin Etcheverry and Australian qualifier Christopher O’Connell next at the Ariake Colosseum in Tokyo.
