SoonWoo Kwon defeated Australian Alex de Minaur, the No 6 seed, 6-3, 6-2 to move into the second round of the Japan Open at the Ariake Colosseum in Tokyo on Tuesday.
Kwon, ranked No 120, will play the winner of the match between American Mackenzie McDonald and Japanese wildcard Kaichi Uchida next.
