Japan Open: Kecmanovic advances to last eight saving six match points against Evans
Miomir Kecmanovic edged out Daniel Evans 6-3, 3-6, 7-6 (4) on Thursday

Serb Miomir Kecmanovic reached the quarter-finals of the Japan Open by edging out No 8 seed Daniel Evans 6-3, 3-6, 7-6 (4) at the Ariake Colosseum in Tokyo on Thursday.
Kecmanovic saved six match points in the third set. Evans lead 5-4 and 40-0 on his own serve.
Kecmanovic, ranked No 33, will face American Frances Tiafoe, the No 4 seed, next.
The Serb won against Japanese Yoshihito Nishioka (2-6, 7-6 (1), 6-2) ahead of his victory. Evans, ranked No 25, edged out Radu Albot (6-7 (3), 6-1, 6-4).
