Indian Wells Masters: Tiafoe scores 150th career win to reach quarter-finals, plays Norrie next
The American defeated Chilean qualifier Alejandro Tabilo 6-4, 6-4 on Tuesday
American Frances Tiafoe, the No 14 seed, beat Chilean qualifier Alejandro Tabilo 6-4, 6-4 to score the 150th win of his career and advance to the quarter-finals of the Indian Wells Masters on Tuesday.
The American won against Marcos Giron (6-2, 6-2) and Australian Jason Kubler (6-3, 6-2) ahead of his win today.
Earlier in the tournament, Tabilo, ranked No 187 in the world, won against German qualifier Maximilian Marterer (6-4, 6-3), American Maxime Cressy, the No 32 seed (7-6 (3), 7-6 (13)) and Australian Jordan Thompson (6-3, 7-6 (6)).
Tiafoe, ranked No 16 in the world, will play No 10 seed Cameron Norrie, of Great Britain, next. The two have met once before with the left-handed Brit winning their clash in 2021 at Delray Beach.
