Indian Wells Masters: Paul reaches third round

American Tommy Paul, the No 17 seed, moved into the third round of the Indian Wells Masters by beating German qualifier Jan-Lennard Struff 6-3, 6-3 at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden on Saturday.

Paul, ranked No 19, will play the winner of the match between Pole Hubert Hurkacz, the No 9 seed, and Australian lucky loser Alexei Popyrin next.

Struff, ranked No 134, won against Frenchman Quentin Halys (1-6, 6-3, 6-3) in the previous round of the Indian Wells Tennis Masters.
