Indian Wells Masters: Mpetshi Perricard moves into third round
Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard benefited from the abandonment of Fabian Marozsan (6-4) on Friday evening. He’ll play the winner of the match between German Alexander Zverev, the top seed, and Dutchman Tallon Griekspoor in the next round
Frenchman Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard, the No 29 seed, advanced to the third round of the Indian Wells Masters when Hungarian Fabian Marozsan retired on Friday evening at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden.
Mpetshi Perricard, ranked No 30, led 6-4 when Marozsan, ranked No 54, pulled out at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden on Friday evening, seemingly with an ankle injury.
The 21-year-old Frenchman will play the winner of the match between German Alexander Zverev, the top seed, and Dutchman Tallon Griekspoor next.
The Hungarian won against Spaniard Pedro Martinez Portero (6-3, 6-2) in the previous round of the Indian Wells Tennis Masters.
