Indian Wells: Medvedev avenges back-to-back losses against Korda to reach fourth round

Daniil Medvedev, the No 4 seed, gained some revenge over American Sebastian Korda, the No 29 seed, who had beaten him the last two occasions they had met.

But this time around, the Russian overcame a second set wobble to defeat Korda 6-4, 5-7, 6-3 and reach the last 16 of the BNP Paribas Open at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden on Monday.

The win equals their lifetime head-to-head series at 2-2. Medvedev, ranked No 4 and the runner-up last year, will face Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov, the No 13 seed, next.

The Russian defeated Spaniard Roberto Carballes Baena (6-2, 6-3) earlier in the tournament.

In the previous round of the Indian Wells Tennis Masters, Korda, ranked No 29, won against Russian Roman Safiullin (6-4, 6-2).
