Monfils stops Korda, sets up Dimitrov battle in Indian Wells third round

Frenchman Gael Monfils won against American Sebastian Korda, the No 24 seed, 7-6 (2), 7-6 (4) to reach the third round of the Indian Wells Masters at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden on Saturday.

Monfils, ranked No 42, will play Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov, the No 14 seed, next.

Ahead of his victory, the 38-year-old Frenchman beat German Jan-Lennard Struff (6-4, 6-4).
