Houston Open: Giron books spot in quarter-finals
Marcos Giron won against J.J. Wolf 6-4, 6-3 on Thursday night and will play Italian Luciano Darderi in the next round

No 7 seed Marcos Giron defeated J.J. Wolf 6-4, 6-3 to advance to the last eight of the Houston Open at River Oaks Country Club on Thursday night.
Giron, ranked No 51, will play Italian Luciano Darderi next.
Ahead of his victory, Marcos Giron won against Canadian wildcard Denis Shapovalov (6-2, 7-5).
Wolf, ranked No 96, edged out Swiss qualifier Alexander Ritschard (6-3, 2-6, 6-4) in the previous round of the Houston tournament.
