Australian James Duckworth won against Dutch qualifier Gijs Brouwer 6-3, 6-3 to advance to the second round of the Houston Open at River Oaks Country Club on Tuesday evening.

Duckworth, ranked No 105, will play No 3 seed Frances Tiafoe next.
