Hong Kong Open: Martinez Portero makes second round

Spaniard Pedro Martinez Portero, the No 7 seed, won against Italian qualifier Francesco Passaro 6-4, 6-4 to advance to the second round of the Hong Kong Open at the Victoria Park Tennis Centre on Tuesday.

Martinez Portero, ranked No 43, will play the winner of the match between Chinese Shang Juncheng and wildcard Chak Lam Coleman Wong next.
