Hong Kong Open: Fils moves into quarter-finals

Frenchman Arthur Fils, the No 4 seed, beat Belgian wildcard Zizou Bergs 7-6 (7), 6-4 to advance to the last eight of the Hong Kong Open at the Victoria Park Tennis Centre on Wednesday.
It took Fils an hour, 41 minutes to beat Bergs. The opening set saw the two cancel each other out on two breaks of serves, thus, inducing a tiebreaker.
The Frenchman raised the bar slightly in the second set, securing two breaks to Bergs’ one and earned the win.

Fils, ranked No 20, will play Frenchman Alexandre Muller next.
In the previous round of the Hong Kong tournament, Bergs, ranked No 71, won against Spanish qualifier Alejandro Moro Canas (6-4, 6-4).
