Zverev ends Fils’ hopes as he books spot in Hamburg final

German Alexander Zverev, the No 4 seed, advanced to the final of the Hamburg Open by beating Frenchman Arthur Fils 6-2, 6-4 at Am Rothenbaum on Saturday evening.
Zverev, ranked No 19, will play Serb Laslo Djere next.
Earlier in the tournament, the German won against Slovak Alex Molcan (6-0, 6-3), wildcard Maximilian Marterer (6-3, 7-5) and Frenchman Luca Van Assche (6-3, 6-4).
Fils, ranked No 71, defeated Colombian lucky loser Daniel Elahi Galan (7-5, 7-5), Serb Dusan Lajovic (7-5, 7-5) and Norwegian Casper Ruud, the top seed (6-0, 6-4) in the previous rounds of the Hamburg tournament.
