Hamburg Open: China’s Zhang battles back to reach quarter-finals
Zhizhen Zhang edged out Yannick Hanfmann 4-6, 6-1, 6-4 on Thursday evening and will face German Daniel Altmaier in the next round

Chinese Zhizhen Zhang edged out German Yannick Hanfmann 4-6, 6-1, 6-4 to reach the quarter-finals of the Hamburg Open at Am Rothenbaum on Thursday evening.
Zhang, ranked No 79, will face German Daniel Altmaier next.
In the previous round of the Hamburg tournament, the Chinese defeated qualifier Jan Choinski (6-4, 7-5).
Hanfmann, ranked No 45, benefited from the abandonment of Argentinian Francisco Cerundolo, the No 5 seed (4-6, 6-2, 4-2) in the previous round of the Hamburg tournament.
