Hamburg Open: Zhang sees off Altmaier to reach semi-finals
Zhizhen Zhang beat Daniel Altmaier 6-4, 6-4 on Friday. He’ll play Serb Laslo Djere in the next round

Chinese Zhizhen Zhang reached the semi-finals of the Hamburg Open by defeating German Daniel Altmaier 6-4, 6-4 at Am Rothenbaum on Friday.
Zhang, ranked No 79, will play Serb Laslo Djere, who upset Loenzo Musetti, next.
Ahead of his victory, the Chinese won against qualifier Jan Choinski (6-4, 7-5) and edged out German Yannick Hanfmann (4-6, 6-1, 6-4).
Altmaier, ranked No 61, won against Frenchman Richard Gasquet (7-5, 6-4) and Russian Andrey Rublev, the second seed (6-2, 6-2) earlier in the tournament.
