Italian Lorenzo Musetti advanced to the last eight of the Hamburg Open by winning against Finn Emil Ruusuvuori 6-4, 7-5 at Am Rothenbaum on Wednesday evening. Musetti, ranked No 62, will play Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina next.
In the previous round, the 20-year-old Italian beat Serb Dusan Lajovic (6-7 (4), 7-6 (4), 6-3). Ruusuvuori, ranked No 42, defeated Argentinian Diego Schwartzman, the No 3 seed (7-5, 6-4) in the first round.
