Hamburg Open: Defending champion Musetti advances to quarter-finals
Lorenzo Musetti edged out Jozef Kovalik 3-6, 6-2, 6-4 on Thursday afternoon. He’ll face Serb Laslo Djere in the next round
Italian Lorenzo Musetti, the No 3 seed, moved into the quarter-finals of the Hamburg Open by edging out Slovak lucky loser Jozef Kovalik 3-6, 6-2, 6-4 at Am Rothenbaum on Thursday.
Musetti, ranked No 18, will play Serb Laslo Djere next.
The 21-year-old Italian won against Swede qualifier Elias Ymer (6-4, 6-1) ahead of his victory.

In the previous round of the Hamburg tournament, Kovalik, ranked No 172, defeated Brazilian qualifier Thiago Seyboth Wild (7-6 (6), 6-4).
