Argentinian Sebastian Baez, the No 3 seed, defeated German Dominik Koepfer 6-2, 6-3 to move into the second round of the Hamburg Open at the Rothenbaum Tennis Center.

Baez, ranked No 19, will play Serb Dusan Lajovic next.
