Hamburg Open: Alcaraz makes quarter-finals beating Krajinovic, Khachanov next

Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz, the top seed, moved into the quarter-finals of the Hamburg Open by defeating Serb Filip Krajinovic 7-6 (4), 6-3 at Am Rothenbaum on Thursday evening. Alcaraz, ranked No 6, will face Russian Karen Khachanov, the No 7 seed, next.
The 19-year-old Spaniard edged out German wildcard Nicola Kuhn (3-6, 6-1, 7-6 (3)) in the previous round. Krajinovic, ranked No 43, edged out Argentinian Sebastian Baez (6-1, 4-6, 7-6 (6)).
