Halle: Zverev reaches semi-finals, plays Bublik next
Alexander Zverev won against Nicolas Jarry 7-5, 6-3 on Friday afternoon and will face Kazakh Alexander Bublik in the next round
German Alexander Zverev, the No 9 seed, advanced to the semi-finals of Halle by beating Chilean Nicolas Jarry 7-5, 6-3 at the Owl Arena/Gerry-Weber-Stadion on Friday.
Zverev, ranked No 22, will play Kazakh Alexander Bublik next.
The German won against Austrian wildcard Dominic Thiem (6-3, 6-4) and Canadian Denis Shapovalov (6-2, 6-4) ahead of his victory.

The two-time Halle runner-up has now won all four of the quarter-finals he has played so far this year.
In the previous rounds of the Halle Open, Jarry, ranked No 28, defeated Frenchman Corentin Moutet (6-3, 7-5) and Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas, the second seed (7-6 (7), 7-5).
