Australian qualifier James Duckworth won against Brazilian wildcard Joao Fonseca 6-4, 6-4 to move into the second round of the Halle Open at the Owl Arena/Gerry-Weber-Stadion on Tuesday.
Duckworth, ranked No 88, will play Pole Hubert Hurkacz, the No 5 seed, next.
