Czech Jiri Vesely, the No 7 seed, won against Spaniard Feliciano López 6-4, 6-2 to move into the second round of the Hall of Fame Open at the International Tennis Hall of Fame & Museum in Newport on Tuesday evening.
Vesely, ranked No 69, will face Steve Johnson next.
