American wildcard Ethan Quinn beat Australian qualifier Marc Polmans 6-3, 6-7 (3), 6-1 to advance to the second round of the Hall of Fame Open at the International Tennis Hall of Fame & Museum in Newport on Tuesday evening.
Quinn, ranked No 254, will face No 4 seed Christopher Eubanks next.
