Hall of Fame Open: Giron books spot in last four

American Marcos Giron, the second seed, advanced to the semi-finals of the Hall of Fame Open by winning against Australian qualifier Alex Bolt 6-4, 6-1 at the International Tennis Hall of Fame & Museum in Newport on Friday evening.
Giron, ranked No 46, will face American Christopher Eubanks, the No 4 seed, next.
The American edged out Frenchman Benoit Paire (4-6, 7-5, 6-4) ahead of his victory.
In the previous rounds of the Newport tournament, Bolt, ranked No 210, defeated Jakub Mensik (6-2, 6-4) and American Brandon Nakashima, the No 5 seed (7-6 (2), 6-4).
