American Maxime Cressy edged out Radu Albot 6-4, 4-6, 7-6 (4) to advance to the second round of the Hall of Fame Open at the International Tennis Hall of Fame & Museum in Newport on Monday evening.
Cressy, ranked No 180, will face No 3 seed Alex Michelsen next.
