Portuguese João Sousa beat Richard Gasquet 6-2, 6-2 to move into the final of the Geneva Open at Tennis Club de Genève, Parc des Eaux-Vives on Friday afternoon.
Sousa, ranked No 79, will play Norwegian Casper Ruud, the second seed, for the title.
The 33-year-old Portuguese beat Spaniard Pablo Andujar (6-1, 6-4), Georgian Nikoloz Basilashvili, the No 5 seed (6-4, 6-3) and Belarusian Ilya Ivashka (7-5, 7-5) earlier in the tournament.
In the previous rounds, Gasquet, ranked No 75, won against Australian John Millman (6-3, 6-1), Russian Daniil Medvedev, the top seed (6-2, 7-6 [5]) and Pole Kamil Majchrzak (6-2, 6-4).
