Giron sets up all-American final against Paul in Dallas
Marcos Giron eased past Adrian Mannarino in the Dallas semi-finals on Saturday. He’ll face second seed Tommy Paul for the title.
American Marcos Giron defeated Frenchman Adrian Mannarino, the No 4 seed, 6-1, 6-3 to advance to the final of the Dallas Open at the Styslinger/Altec Tennis Complex on Saturday night.
Giron, ranked No 67, will face second seed Tommy Paul next.
Earlier in the tournament, the American won against qualifier Nicolas Moreno De Alboran (6-1, 6-4), Australian Max Purcell, the No 6 seed (6-4, 6-3) and top seed Frances Tiafoe (6-1, 6-4).
Mannarino, ranked No 17, benefited from the forfeit of Japanese Yoshihito Nishioka and benefited from the abandonment of Australian James Duckworth (6-2, 3-1) in the previous rounds of the Dallas tournament.
