Frenchman Arthur Rinderknech won against Spanish lucky loser Carlos Taberner 6-3, 6-3 to advance to the second round of the Gijon Open at the Palacio deportes on Monday evening.
Rinderknech, ranked No 56, will face Frenchman Constant Lestienne next.
