Nicolas Alvarez Varona beat Marco Trungelliti 1-6, 6-3, 6-0 to reach the second round of the Gijon Open
Spanish qualifier Nicolas Alvarez Varona defeated Argentinian qualifier Marco Trungelliti 1-6, 6-3, 6-0 to reach the second round of the Gijon Open at the Palacio deportes on Tuesday afternoon.
This was the Spaniard’s first career win at the ATP Tour level.
Alvarez Varona, ranked No 231, will play American Tommy Paul, the No 5 seed, next.
