Geneva Open: Zverev makes semi-finals as Wu pulls out injured

German Alexander Zverev, the No 3 seed, advanced to the semi-finals of the Geneva Open when Chinese Yibing Wu retired at Tennis Club de Genève, Parc des Eaux-Vives on Thursday evening.
Zverev, ranked No 27, led 4-1 when Wu, ranked No 59, pulled out at Tennis Club de Genève, Parc des Eaux-Vives on Thursday evening.
The German will face the winner of the match between Norwegian Casper Ruud, the top seed, and Chilean Nicolas Jarry next.
Alexander Zverev defeated American Christopher Eubanks (6-2, 6-3) ahead of his victory.
Earlier in the tournament, the Chinese edged out Swiss Marc-Andrea Huesler (6-4, 4-6, 7-6 (6)) and won against Italian Marco Cecchinato (7-6 (5), 6-3).
