Geneva Open: Jarry upends top seed Ruud to reach semi-finals
Nicolas Jarry edged out Casper Ruud 3-6, 7-6 (2), 7-5 on Thursday evening. He’ll face German Alexander Zverev, the No 3 seed, in the next round
Chilean Nicolas Jarry upended Norwegian Casper Ruud, the top seed, 3-6, 7-6 (2), 7-5 to move into the semi-finals of the Geneva Open at Tennis Club de Genève, Parc des Eaux-Vives on Thursday evening.
Jarry, ranked No 54, will face German Alexander Zverev, the No 3 seed, next. It’s the first time Ruud has ever lost a match on Swiss clay.

The Chilean beat Serb Dusan Lajovic (6-4, 6-2) and Dutchman Tallon Griekspoor, the No 6 seed (W/O) ahead of his victory.
In the previous round of the Geneva tournament, Ruud, ranked No 4, won against American J.J. Wolf (6-3, 7-5).
