American Marcos Giron beat Kazakh Alexander Bublik (6-0, 6-4) to move into the second round of the Geneva Open at Tennis Club de Genève, Parc des Eaux-Vives on Monday evening.
Giron, ranked No 74, will face second seed Taylor Fritz next.
