Generali Open: Rinderknech advances to quarter-finals, takes out second seed Hanfmann

Frenchman Arthur Rinderknech won against German Yannick Hanfmann, the second seed, 7-6 (3), 6-3 to reach the quarter-finals of the Generali Open at Kitzbühel Tennis Club in Kitzbuhel on Wednesday evening.

Rinderknech, ranked No 67, will face the winner of the match between Chinese Zhizhen Zhang and Austrian wildcard Dominic Thiem next.

Ahead of his victory, the Frenchman beat Argentinian lucky loser Juan Manuel Cerundolo (6-7 (3), 6-4, 6-2).
