Generali Open: Lehecka books spot in quarter-finals

Jiri Lehecka defeated João Sousa 7-6 (6), 1-6, 6-3 on Wednesday afternoon and will play Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut, the No 3 seed, in the next round

Czech Jiri Lehecka won against Portuguese João Sousa, the No 8 seed, 7-6 (6), 1-6, 6-3 to advance to the last eight of the Generali Open at Kitzbühel Tennis Club on Wednesday.

Lehecka, ranked No 68, will play Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut, the No 3 seed, next.

Ahead of his victory, the 20-year-old Czech beat Brazilian Thiago Monteiro (7-6 (6), 6-4).

Sousa, ranked No 61, defeated Czech qualifier Vit Kopriva (6-1, 7-5) in the previous round of the Kitzbuhel.
