German Yannick Hanfmann advanced to the second round of the Generali Open when Austrian qualifier Gerald Melzer retired on Tuesday at Kitzbühel Tennis Club.
Hanfmann, ranked No 140, led 6-4, 1-1 when Melzer, ranked No 188, pulled out on Tuesday afternoon at Kitzbühel Tennis Club.
