Generali Open: Acosta reaches last eight, Martinez next

Argentinian Facundo Diaz Acosta beat Colombian qualifier Daniel Elahi Galan 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 to advance to the quarter-finals of the Generali Open at Kitzbühel Tennis Club in Kitzbuhel on Wednesday.

Acosta, ranked No 77, will play Spaniard Pedro Martinez, the No 4 seed, next.

Ahead of his victory, the Argentinian won against Federico Coria (2-6, 6-3, 6-0).

Galan, ranked No 137, defeated Serb lucky loser Hamad Medjedovic (6-4, 5-7, 6-3) in the previous round of the Kitzbuhel tournament.
