Swedish qualifier Ymer reaches semi-finals in Florence

Swede qualifier Mikael Ymer advanced to the semi-finals of the Florence Open by winning against Spaniard Roberto Carballes Baena 6-4, 6-2 at the Palazzo Wanny on Friday afternoon.
Ymer, ranked No 99, will play the winner of the match between Kazakh Alexander Bublik, the No 7 seed, and American J.J. Wolf next.
The Swede beat Dutch qualifier Tim van Rijthoven (6-1, 6-2) and Russian Aslan Karatsev, the No 5 seed (6-1, 6-7 (6), 6-1) ahead of his victory.
Earlier in the tournament, Carballes Baena, ranked No 80, defeated Colombian Daniel Elahi Galan (6-2, 6-1) and edged out Italian Matteo Berrettini, the second seed (5-7, 7-6 (5), 7-5).
