Spaniard Roberto Carballes Baena edged out Italian Matteo Berrettini, the second seed, 5-7, 7-6 (5), 7-5 to reach the quarter-finals of the Florence Open at the Palazzo Wanny on Wednesday evening.
Carballes Baena, ranked No 80, will play Swede qualifier Mikael Ymer next.
The Spaniard won against Colombian Daniel Elahi Galan (6-2, 6-1) ahead of his victory.
